Styling files in Rana 
========================

Styling files in Rana using the Rana Desktop Client enables you to choose different stylings than the default stylings Rana sets. 

QGIS supports a myriad of stylings, with Rana we support a subset. A shortlist of the stylings that are supported can be found in these docs: https://geocat.github.io/qgis-bridge-plugin/latest/supported_symbology.html 

If you like to use a styling that does't work in Rana yet, feel free to reach out to our :ref:`servicedesk <a_contact>`. 


#) To save a style to a file, the file needs to be uploaded to Rana first, see :ref:`upload file to Rana <upload_file_to_rana>`. 
#) Now you :ref:`download <download_a_file_from_rana>` the file from Rana .
#) Apply the styling you like. When you're finished: right mouse click on the file in the Rana panel and click 'Save style to Rana'
#) Check the :ref:`preview <previewing_files>` of the file in the Rana Web Platform to see if your styling works. 


Styling is supported for both Vector And Raster Layers
